ESL(English as a second language)

Non-native speakers of English who do not meet the English proficiency requirements to start undergraduate or graduate programs are provided with the opportunity to take English as a Second Language (ESL) classes as a previous step towards their degree of interest.

ESL programs usually include courses in writing, grammar, reading, speaking, and listening. It also serves as a preparation for TOEFL and IELTS exams. Most institutions test the students for English proficiency and place them into the level of study that matches their needs.

Depending of the level of English of each applicant, ESL courses can take from one semester to one year.


Students interested in English as a Second Language programs can start classes in the fall or spring semester.
